Beauty To Wear…

As much as I love the sparkle of crystal and the beauty of handmade lampwork, I just crumble over vvs quality Type II  gem stones.  There is something about their ‘natural’ beauty after they’ve been cut that really melts my insides. 

I found this ‘carved’ Lemon Citrine gemstone at a gem faire I recently attended, and decided to pair it with 14K and links I made from Lemon Citrine faceted triangles and Pink Sapphires.  They look like little ‘bows.’  There is just a small bit of Tanzanite on the bail of the gemstone, and on the earrings below. 

Summer is coming…Pink Lemonade anyone?

Yessssss, more beads by Melanie Moertel, and don’t they just make you think of gorgeous sea anemones? I was snorkeling in Hawaii some years ago, and loved just floating above the reefs staring at them…ahhhhhh, the beauty of this world.

I pared these with some peach iridescent crystal and 14k gold wire, nothing fancy to distract from their beauty. Love your thoughts!!

I just love Melanie Moertel’s beads, and they are somewhat difficult to obtain because she only makes one set of each and they sell immediately as soon as she posts them.  I tried for weeks before I was able to obtain this set and they cost me over $30 per bead, but sooooo worth it!

So I have this great blue topaz ring that just loooove right, and I’ve searched and searched for the necklace that would do it justice, but to no avail.

So at a gem show this spring, I purchased some blue topaz and came home and combined them with aqua marine and 14k gold beads and sterling tubes.

The original version was much less attractive than this (I am so not uber-creative), so hubby made some suggestions.

Viola! I love it!!
